First week since launching was interesting to say the least...Right out of the gate it started with our site crashing the night before we were supposed to launch. Okay okay crash isn't exactly the right term, we aren't the stock market, it ended up being something on the backend between Wix and the people helping us develop our site. Thinking that almost made it worse for us because both of us basically are allergic to asking for help and try to suffer through crap ourselves. Admittedly not always the best route because you end up waist deep in shit and hiding in your bathtub while simultaneously taking gulps of wine and breathing whilst you ugly cry. Our advice would be to accept help where you can get it because if someone wants to make your life easier why the hell not! One day we strive to take our own advice! But until then, just sitting on the outside waiting for people to not mess up their end is pure torture. Especially when it's second nature to pick up the dropped balls and run like the wind. So after 18 hours of us freaking out, panicking, trying to talk each other off the ledge, leaving what one can only assume were unhinged messages on company answering machines. We finally got it sorted out. Thank ya Jesus! So after dealing with that right from the jump, all the little blessings that happened the first week we were able to take in stride.
We wanted our soft launch to mainly be directed towards our family and friends as sort of a beta test. Listen, we want the feedback! All the feedback! Did the packages show up in one piece? How long after you ordered until it got to you? Did you like the site? Did you get the comic relief behind our girl icon? Overall, the positive support and feedback were a godsend, and we are so blessed to have such great family and friends but, that said...it was family and friends. So once it gets outside of the supportive little bubble, people may not all be so nice. I think we all know as a whole MOST people are not like that...so this first round of feedback and implementation has been awesome for us! To work on any kinks before it goes mainstream ( and by that we mean, Dear God please help us get to a place where we start kicking ass and taking names!) Truth is the actual business side has been pretty fun this first week, seeing the orders come in, finally becoming friends with the label printer, packing and shipping! There is something pretty rewarding in working for almost a year, starting from just an idea to seeing it come to life, turning into something real that you can physically touch. That part has been pretty cool and honestly is still setting in. Understanding the level of participation required to stay on top of the social aspect?? Not as cool. It makes us look at influencers in a whole new light! This crap is hard...and a full time job. We tip our hat! So we have brainstormed, made a plan ( and one deranged video of us in the grocery) and are trying to get more comfortable in front of the camera. With that being said...please bare with us for a while. We are about to be ROUGH...we are on the wrong side of 35 trying to figure this out while watering down our immature and inappropriate senses of humor! That said, loads of content coming your way filled with tips and tricks for your blueprints, sprinkled with what I'm sure will be cringe so laugh with us or at us and keep slingin the salami!
